Penguin Virtual Talks

Get up close and personal with authors and influencers as they broadcast direct from their own homes in Penguin Virtual Talks.

Penguin Talks, run by the publisher Penguin Random House in partnership with Speakers for Schools, is a programme of free creative talks for young people across the UK and Ireland. These live events offer an opportunity to both hear from and directly question a world-renowned thinker, writer or influential figure from Penguin’s family of authors.

In April 2020 the series became Penguin Virtual Talks, with live broadcasts from authors in their homes during the COVID-19 lockdown. Focused on issues which mattered most to young people during this time – including how to manage anxiety, challenge inequality and prepare for the world of work – the talks have featured the likes of Gareth Southgate, Lily Cole, Big Narstie and Zawe Ashton.
